BEDAY day i don't even know anymore

So a really cool thing happened in band today. We (my fellow leaders of the flute section and I) had about 15 minutes left in rehearsal and wanted to practice marching and playing at the same time. Then we saw the tuba section was doing the same thing, so we go over to them and ask if we can join and they said yes. So we all played our fight song together and it sounded weird but cool. Then we saw the euphoniums who were right by us practicing, and asked if they wanted to join. So now we had the flutes, tubas, and euphoniums all playing different parts of our fight song, and it was the weirdest thing to listen too, but still sounded pretty cool.

Then the saxes joined, then the guard ran over, then the clarinets, then the mellophones, then the trumpets. And pretty soon we had the whole band plus drum majors plus the leadership (me) high stepping it down the field playing our fight song for the first time that year. And it was fucking awesome.

Random stuff like that is why I love band so much. We work super hard during our fundamentals week, and this was just one way to show that it will be worth while. This makes me excited for what's to come for our season. Not just the made of awesome shows we're doing (patriotic, boy band, beatles, styx and rolling stones), but of the people who make this band what it is.

Listening to: John Mayer (Why Georgia)
